Bridie - Manager, Southern Suburbs
I am an animal lover through and through, and I have experience caring for a wide variety of them, including dogs, cats, ferrets, fish, and even farm animals like horses, calves, lambs, goats, chickens, and ducks. Some people prefer dogs over cats, but I love them both equally. In my home we all snuggle up together.
After taking a break, I have recently returned to foster caring. I have years of experience in animal welfare and rescue organisations, including committee positions with golden retriever rescue (WAGRRS) and equine rehabilitation and rescue (Save Equus). I also enjoy animal fundraising and awareness events.
I have a unique ability to connect with animals that typically dislike strangers. These animals often surprise their families by seeking me out. Even the captivating peacocks at UWA would spend many lunchtimes with me. I’ve had the privilege to care for a variety of animals and I cherish every opportunity to look after these beloved creatures.
One of my daily highlights is enjoying the photos and stories of what our lovely animal clients are up to on any given day.
I have over 18 years of experience in project and contract management, including running my own company. I thrive on multitasking and the fast-paced nature of my role at Pet Friends. Every day brings new challenges and rewards, with the satisfaction of knowing that all the pets in our care are happy, engaged, and well-looked after. Plus, I have the best view from my “office,” with a furry friend usually snoozing nearby!
