I am a dog lover and was blessed to share three beautiful dogs with my husband, Wayne. Unfortunately we lost the last two recently due to old age (2022 & 2023) and were so devastated by their loss that we felt we couldn’t go through that experience again with another dog of our own, so when the opportunity arose to join PetFriends I couldn’t join up quick enough and have been with them now since September 2023. Pet sitting has turned out to be the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.
I love all the dogs I’ve had the privilege to look after; they help fill the very big hole in my heart and I treat them all as though they are mine. I give them as much love and attention as I can and being retired means I can spend the maximum amount of time with them.
Pet sitting has also given me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful puppy parents and plays a big part in helping me get to know more about their dog so I can bond with them better when they come to stay with me.
Our property is large (5 acres) and fully fenced, so the dogs have the freedom to run off leash to their hearts content. It gives me so much pleasure watching them take full advantage of their freedom.

Amazing pet minding service. We opted for our dog Kingsley to stay away from home with a host family. He’s an anxious rescue and this was his first time being away from us, so we were very nervous. Sharon was great in answering my queries and the hosts, Deb and Wayne, were so amazing and kind. They treated our dog like their own and he was relaxed and happy during his stay. The portal is a great way to upload and store important information for the pet sitters to refer too, and we received a daily update and photo.
