Dianne
Hi, I am Dianne. I commenced boarding dogs for Pet Friends in 2018. I am in a perfect position to offer a loving home away from home being retired from full time work.
I have always been extremely passionate about animal welfare. I have had five dogs in my life, two from puppies, two adopted foster care dogs and I am currently foster mum to a Mini Poodle, Lewie, who the RSPCA rescued from a puppy farm. I plan to adopt Lewie once the owner has been to court, a drawn out process which has so far taken nearly 3 years.
I have experience in training dogs through the German Shepherd Association and have cared for injured wildlife at the Kanyana Wildlife Sanctuary as a volunteer for 5 years now. I work in the hospital section which includes a hospital, nocturnal room, aviaries and pre release area. We care for echidnas, quendas, possums, bandicoots, and reptiles – bobtails, lizards. I love taking care of them, observing and teaching them to feed themselves before we can release them back into their natural habitat and nurturing the permanent residents who cannot be released.
I have always enjoyed caring for family and friends’ dogs when they go away and have been delighted to have built on this fur family with home visits and boards through Pet Friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking care of the dogs, cats, rats and birds in the Pet Friends extended family. I live in Willagee with a great backyard for the dogs to run amuck – plenty of shade, beds, kennel and lawn. I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby/s and offering a loving and nurturing home away from home.
I am very happy having just picked up my two dogs after 12 days in Dianne’s care. Both the dogs are super happy and in good condition. Paddy even watched Dianne as we drove away!
